Gym Upgrades Win Participatory Budgeting at BC

BROOKLYN COLLEGE–A majority of students voted to use the student body participatory budget of $30,000 to make upgrades to the gym, said a May 15 post on the Facebook page, “Brooklyn College in the Know 2.”

In addition to electing a CLAS President and Vice President, as well as several other positions on student government, Brooklyn College students were tasked with voting on a project to dedicate the funds to. On the ballot were four options: upgrades to the gym, microwaves at convenient locations across campus, furnishing lounge spaces in SUBO and emergency blue lights.
