YORK COLLEGE–After months of uncertainty, York students and staff members received an email in late November announcing the school’s new interim president will be Dr. Claudia V. Schrader, the current president of Kingsborough Community College.
Schrader has served as KCC president since Sept. 2018. She is the first African American in Kingsborough’s history to hold that position. She has worked for more than 20 years within the CUNY system.
Current York President Berenecea Johnson Eanes will step down from her position in less than a week. Eanes, who served the college for the past four years, also started at York as an interim president, in the fall of 2019.
