Lacrosse at CCNY Aims for NCAA Status

CITY COLLEGE–The coach of City College’s lacrosse club has big plans–restoring the program’s NCAA status.

Lacrosse officially came to City in 1887, and for years athletes used to compete as a Division 1 team.

But somewhere down the line, the team lost its NCAA designation, and students and alumni say it’s high time that the school gets it back.

Harlem View reporter JD Johnstone spoke with the lacrosse coach about how he and the school’s athletic department plan to do so and where he wants the program to go in the next few years.
