New Course Focuses on Career Planning for Journalism Students

HUNTER COLLEGE–This fall, Hunter College’s film and media department will offer “Classroom to Career”, a new course centered on preparing journalism students for employment.

Starting from the ground up, the 1.5 credit class will feature resume and cover letter workshops, interview preparation, job search strategies and more tools for professional development that will help juniors and seniors studying journalism feel confident in their ability to succeed after graduation.

“It’s a full-time job looking for a job, so we will think strategically based on your personality,” said Jeanie Ahn, the professor who will teach the course. “It will be a fun and interactive way to prepare you for the real world.”
